Accomondation
For guest needing a place to stay over night, here's a couple of hotels we recommend.
Sokos Pasila Hotel is quite close to the swim centre
Cumulus Olympia is a bit further away, but has good public transport options for getting to the swim centre.
Hotel Fennia Decent but affordable. Good public transport options.
If you have any questions regarding how to get there and where to stay - don't hesitate to contact us!

Speculation
Registrations are starting to come in and already we can see some interesting athletes.
Eero Soralahti is the current DYN and DNF NR holder (178 and 121) and we can expect the national record to fall.
Johanna Nordblad has also signed up. Currently holding national records in DYN and DNF (158 and 125 m), and a previous WR holder in DYN she's sure to bring interesting results.
Who will take the DNF NR in men? Matti Luukkonen has a personal best of 125 from training, and Jonerik Ekström is not far behind and Mikko Pöntinen is well capable of reaching NR levels. Who will be the dark horse? Rumour has it one diver has been working very hard on DNF :)
What about static? Where's Timo? Antero and Simo are capable of 7+, but will Timo show up to defend his title? Jussi Lehtonen would be welcome too - and who is the dark horse? Many new divers have been reaching 6+ in training - maybe even more?
Last year Timo took home the total points trophy, breaking the magical 200 points with 205,5. Strong contender will be Antero who is very strong and consistent in every discipline. For women the 2005 champion Päivi Mettovaara might give Johanna a run for her money - but more women would certainly be welcome!

Prizes
For the National Champions in each discipline there will of course be nice, official medals. But this year we've been lucky to have a few gifts from sponsors as well.
For example Suunto and Tivoli Audio have chosen to support us by allowing us to offer some of their products as prizes.
Stay tuned as negotiations with sponsors are still underway :)

Mäkelänrinne swimming centre

The competition will be held in the City of Helsinki, on the Mäkelänrinne Swimming Centre. This is one of the biggest and most prestigious swimming centres in Finland and the host of many big swimming events - both national and international.
For a freediving pool competition we could not hope for more. The pool is 50m in length so dynamic apnea can be arranged on a 50m lane, but on the last 4 lanes there is a wall erected at 25m allowing DNF on a 25m lane.
The swim centre is located at
Mäkelänkatu 49
00550 Helsinki
